God's True Beauty

God's True Beauty

You gave us the world in all of its beauty,
You formed the vast mountains and sky
You created a place that was meant for goodwill;
It became a place where You’d die.

Man, whom You formed, turned his back on You;
He traded Your love for a thief.
He caused You to hang on an old rugged cross,
Where You suffered with sorrow and grief.

Your beautiful world was soon turned to shame;
Man’s sins were displayed on that tree.
To great lengths You suffered, so all men could see
True beauty and love is in Thee.
